Europe Goes Once Only – Finland edition

We are thrilled to announce the event Europe Goes Only – Finland Edition, which will take place in Helsinki from 8 to 9 October 2024. This on-site event is organised by the Finnish KEHA Centre and the European Commission. It will intensify the ongoing work to onboard national Competent Authorities to the Once-Only Technical System (OOTS) and offer a forum for discussion between the various teams working on the OOTS.

Europe Goes Once Only – Finland Edition is a unique opportunity that promises to inspire collaboration and realise the strategic goals and demonstrate the relevance of the Once-Only Technical System (OOTS). The event will benefit Competent Authorities that will connect to the OOTS, notably those in the population, education, vehicles, businesses domains.

Europe goes Once Only - Finland Edition is also open for SDG national coordinators and team leaders responsible for implementing the Once-Only Technical system in their Member State. Keynotes and workshops

Keynote speakers will highlight the broader picture of Europe’s cross border digitalisation in the context of a well-functioning single market and give listeners a clear picture how OOTS will benefit citizens, businesses and competent authorities.

Workshops provided by national experts and Commission representatives will clarify what evidence and data should be exchanged for users to complete the procedures covered by the OOTS. The competent authorities and SDG coordinators are divided to their own parallel workshops.

In the first workshop European Commission will first present the vision and benefits of the OOTS to the competent authorities of the population, education, vehicle and business domains. Later on, these authorities will be divided into domain specific groups to discuss key implementation challenges and brainstorm potential solutions. After a little break, the Commission will present the evidence mapping process. Then participants will be matched up to discuss the evidence they will exchange through the OOTS and will have the opportunity to start to outline a plan to test together at a future OOTS testing event.

In the second workshop commission will organise a round table for SDG coordinators of work on the OOTS to discuss various topics including best practices for engaging competent authorities.

In the evening of the first day there is a social event where participants can continue the discussions of the day in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Panel discussion and expert presentations

The event’s second day, the SDG coordinators of Nordic and Baltic countries will settle down for a panel discussing their development phases of national OOTS implementations.

Expert presentations will explore specific examples of progress of Once-Only in the Nordic/Baltic region, look at best practices in onboarding Competent Authorities and in raising general OOTS awareness.

The second day and the whole event ends with a joint lunch, giving participants an additional opportunity to talk with colleagues in order to strengthen cooperation.
