SDG Regulation
What obligations does the SDG Regulation impose on authorities?
The EU single market enables the free movement of people, goods, services and capital. The Single Digital Gateway (SDG) regulation entered into force at the end of 2018. It aims to provide citizens and businesses with information in cross-border situations and direct them to the services they need so that free movement within the EU single market can be realised conveniently.
The regulation obliges EU member states to produce information online, organise assistance services and digitalise their services across borders. The regulation also obliges Member States to exchange information across borders using the Once-Only Technical System (OOTS).
